The Exterior

The exterior of the F-150 Lightning does a great job of feeling familiar while adding in some really thoughtful EV upgrades, making it both functional and family-friendly.

Keeps that classic F-150 look, which feels much more approachable than some of the more futuristic EV designs out there
Full-width front light bar adds a fun, modern touch without overcomplicating the design
Front trunk (frunk) is powered and gives you that covered storage trucks usually lack—perfect for strollers, groceries, or a big Costco haul
Charge port is on the driver’s side and easy to access
Tailgate is packed with practical features like power open, built-in step, lighting, outlets, and even a measuring guide
Overall, it feels really functional while still giving you those subtle, elevated upgrades you’d expect at this price point

First Row

Up front, the F-150 Lightning really delivers when it comes to comfort and everyday usability. You have tons of storage with large door cubbies and a spacious center console, plus multiple USB and USB-C ports and a wireless charger to keep everything powered. The seats feel upgraded with nicer materials like suede accents, contrast stitching, and wood trim that give it a more elevated feel without losing that truck identity.

The large infotainment screen is the same setup Ford uses in the Expedition, so it’s familiar, though most of the controls live in the touchscreen, including climate. One of the standout features is the fold-flat work surface—when you stow the shifter, the center console turns into a table that’s perfect for eating, working, or even quick on-the-go moments with kids.
