Rotating Seats

Yes! Rotating car seats meet the same safety standards as non-rotating seats. Some options, like the Evenflo Revolve360 Slim, can also be used for multiple ages of children.

An “always-tether” car seat is the answer! Some rotating seats are truly a one-time installation and require the tether anchor for both a rear and forward facing installation. The Evenflo Revolve360 Slim or Chicco Fit360 are easy to rotate for kids of different ages without uninstalling.

It depends! If this is your goal, I would consider the Evenflo Revolve360 Slim or Graco EasyTurn 360. Even if the rotating seat can’t spin 360, it can spin outwards to allow better access for the child in the center seat.

If you’re really tight on space, a rotating car seat may not be the best choice. They’re all bigger than compact traditional options. The Cybex Callisto G360 and the Evenflo Revolve360 Slim are the most compact options.

Car seat tilt only works when the seat is installed with the lower anchors. Because rotating car seats are heavy, seats with higher rear-facing lower anchor weight limits let you use car seat tilt for longer. The Evenflo Revolve360 Slim and Graco EasyTurn 360 both have 35-pound limits, compared to 25 or 30 pounds on some other rotating seats.

Many rotating car seats are not certified for aircraft use, so check your car seat manual to see if yours is. The real question is: do you want to? Rotating car seats are bulkier and heavier than traditional car seats. We prefer a more compact car seat like the Graco SlimFit3 LX or a travel seat like the WAYB Pico.
