Features We Love
  • Massive, Three-Across-Friendly Back Seat: The F-150’s wide rear bench is one of its biggest strengths. With lower anchors on the outboard seats and three tether anchors, it comfortably supports multiple car seat configurations — including true three-across setups — while still leaving space for an adult in the middle.
  • Extensive Camera System: Front, surround view, bed, backup, and tow cameras make maneuvering this full-size truck surprisingly easy. For a vehicle this large, the visibility technology is a major confidence booster.
  • Fold-Flat Shifter + Work Surface: This is the ultimate “mom hack” feature. With the push of a button, the shifter folds down and the center console transforms into a flat workspace — perfect for working on the go, eating lunch, or handling life admin between activities.
Car Mom Review

The Exterior

The 2025 F-150 has that bold, unmistakable truck presence but it’s more than just tough looks. The wide stance and four full-size doors make it feel substantial and family-ready, while available running boards are a game changer for helping kids climb in independently. The updated LED lighting gives it a modern, polished look, and thoughtful features like the available Pro Access Tailgate make loading strollers, sports gear, and groceries surprisingly easy. It’s rugged enough for work life, but refined enough to pull up to school pickup feeling confident — and honestly, a little cool.

If you are in the market for an F-150 and you have carseats you need to look at the SuperCrew Cabs. The other cabs will not be good for carseats.

First Row

Interior: Luxury Meets Function

The Platinum trim is fully loaded — and it feels like it.

Highlights:

  • Gorgeous interior color scheme
  • Suede headliner
  • Massive center console
  • Wireless charger + USB + USB-C everywhere
  • Four cup holders within driver reach 🙌

But here’s the real party trick:

The Fold-Flat Shifter + Work Surface

Press a button.
The gear shifter lays flat.
The center console unfolds into a desk.

I’m obsessed.

Lunch spot? ✔️
Work station? ✔️
Emergency diaper change? (If desperate.) ✔️

Honestly, this feature should be in every family SUV.

Second Row

Let’s Talk Car Seats 👏

Trucks historically get a bad reputation for car seat installs — but the F-150 is actually fantastic.

Why?

  • Wide rear bench
  • Lower anchors on both outboard seats
  • Three tether anchors
  • One consistent four-door configuration (no confusing quad vs. crew cab sizing differences)

This bench is BIG.

I installed:

  • A rotating seat (not compact front-to-back)
  • A forward-facing seat
  • And still comfortably sat in the middle at six months pregnant

Three-across? Totally doable.

Important: Tether Installation in Trucks

Forward-facing car seats require tether anchors.

In the F-150, installation involves:

  1. Pulling the tether loop from behind the seat
  2. Routing it through the headrest
  3. Attaching it to an adjacent anchor

It sounds confusing — but once you see it in the manual, it makes sense. This is one of the few situations where using an adjacent anchor is correct and allowed.

Always check your vehicle manual under “Child Restraint” — it walks you through it step by step.

Second Row Comfort

  • Heated outboard seats (Platinum trim)
  • Rear vents (low, not ceiling-mounted)
  • Tons of legroom

Would I love ceiling vents? Yes.
Do trucks typically offer them? No.

But overall, it’s a very comfortable back seat for kids and adults.

Hidden Storage Bonus

Lift the rear seats and you’ll find extra storage underneath — perfect for emergency supplies, tools, or stashing things out of sight.

Trunk

Truck Bed = Mom Trunk on Steroid4

Yes, there’s no traditional trunk.

But once you add a hard cover, that truck bed becomes:

  • Giant stroller storage
  • Sports equipment central
  • Weekend getaway cargo zone
  • Cooler + grocery hauling machine

I also unexpectedly loved using the tailgate as a staging area — setting down my diaper bag and water bottle while loading kids. It seems minor, but in real life? That flat surface is so helpful.

Safety

The 2025 Ford F-150 earned 5 stars for NHTSA and features standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology. Key safety features include Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping System, and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with trailer coverage.
