The Honda Passport was fully redesigned in 2026.
- True Three-Across Car Seat Capability: This is a standout in the two-row segment. With three sets of LATCH anchors, three tether anchors, and flexible buckles, the Passport can handle a real three-across setup—even with a mix of infant, convertible, and booster seats.
- Massive Cargo Space: Skipping the third row means you get a huge trunk. It easily fits a full-size stroller (or two), plus groceries, sports gear, or a wagon—with added underfloor storage for organization.
- “Big Two-Row” Size Advantage: Larger than compact SUVs like the RAV4 or Forester, the Passport gives you more legroom, width, and comfort—without the bulk or cost of a three-row SUV. It’s the sweet spot for growing families.
- Family-Friendly Interior Design: Tons of smart storage (especially in the doors), easy-to-use physical climate controls, heated features, and thoughtful touches like sunshades and rear-seat amenities make daily life with kids easier.
The Exterior
Exterior: A Major Glow-Up
Honda leaned into a more rugged, off-road-inspired design with this redesign, and it works. The Passport now feels boxier, more muscular, and honestly one of the best-looking vehicles in Honda’s lineup right now.
The TrailSport trim adds even more personality with larger tires, skid plates, roof rails, and black accents. It gives off a very “adventure-ready” vibe while still being completely practical for everyday family life.
First Row
Interior: Simple, Functional, and Family-Friendly
Inside, the Passport feels familiar in the best way. If you’ve been in a Honda Pilot, you’ll recognize a lot of the layout and features—but packaged into a two-row format.
You get:
- Tons of storage, especially in the door panels (yes, even cup holders in the doors)
- A digital driver display
- Heated steering wheel (TrailSport)
- Wireless charging and multiple USB-C ports
- Physical climate controls that are easy to use
The infotainment system is fine—it gets the job done—but it’s not the standout feature here. What Honda does really well is keeping things intuitive and easy, which matters more when you’re juggling kids, snacks, and schedules.
Second Row
Second Row Comfort & Features
You’ll find:
- Heated seats (TrailSport)
- Sunshades (rare in a two-row SUV)
- Great storage, including phone pockets and cup holders
- Wide, deep seating that works well for adults and kids
The only real drawback is the lack of ceiling vents, but that’s fairly common in this segment. Overall, it’s a very livable, family-friendly second row.
Third Row
Trunk
Cargo Space: Where Two-Row SUVs Win
One of the biggest advantages of skipping a third row? Cargo space.
The Passport absolutely delivers here. It easily fits a full-size stroller (or two), plus room for groceries, sports gear, or a wagon.
There’s also:
- Underfloor storage for extra gear
- Multiple cargo cubbies for organization
- A power tailgate with a lock-on-close feature
It’s one of those trunks that just makes life easier when you’re constantly hauling kid gear.
Safety
The 2026 Honda Passport is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ which is the highest award by the IIHS.
Car Seat Fit: A True Three-Across Winner
This is where the Passport really impressed me.
The second row is a legitimate three-across setup with:
- Three sets of lower anchors
- Three top tether anchors
- Flexible buckles that make installation easier
I tested it with an infant seat, convertible seat, and a booster—and it handled it. That’s not something every two-row SUV can do well.
This is a vehicle that can truly grow with your family, whether you’re in the early car seat years or transitioning into boosters.
